Famous Cousins?

Looking back at yesterday's post about the Super Couples of New France, we see which of these progenitors we share with famous people.

A couple of fun websites to check out are Perche-Quebec and FamousKin in each you will select the name of the ancestor you want to search for your famous cousins.

For example, on Perche-Quebec I look for Cloutier Zacharie 1590 (the one from 1617 is his son) and I select him from the list.

On Zacharie Cloutier's page we see photos of his famous descendants. Among them are Celine Dion, Madonna, Justin Trudeau, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, Angelina Jolie, Jack Kerouac, Alanis Morisette, Justin Bieber, Ryan Gosling, and Jim Carey. Zacharie Cloutier is my 10th great grandfather on my paternal side. Thus sharing a common ancestor with all the famous people listed above. Turning our attention to FamousKin, the link will bring you the master surname index. Looking at Jacques Archambault's famous kin, we select Archambault from the surname list and then Jacques. We see the famous descendants of Jacques Archambault are Pierre Trudeau, Justin Trudeau, Jim Carrey, Shemar Moore, Nathan Fillion, Bridget Fonda, Kelsey Grammer, and Dax Shepherd. Jacques Archambault is my 10th great grandfather on my paternal side..

While we websites are purely for fun, I have found in my research that there is some

solid genealogy work done here. It's always fun to do find out who your cousins are be they famous or not.
